EasyCraft Pillow Cover Kits

These simple kits were designed to enable beginner crafters to create beautiful home decor and heirloom items. EasyCraft kits also make great gifts for experienced crafters with limited time!

18" Kit Includes

Embroidery* – pre-trimmed to 19” x19”

Matching pillow back fabric* – 2 pieces pre-cut to 19” x 24”

*All fabrics are pre-washed to remove sizing and reduce shrinkage.

Instructions

1.) Remove the stabilizer from the back of your embroidery by holding the stitches in place and gently tearing away the stabilizer.

To remove the stabilizer from the center of your design, lift the stabilizer with a straight pin and

gently tear the stabilizer away from the stitching.

2.) Press the embroidery from the back side using a wool setting to remove any wrinkles in the fabric. To add a designer look you can embellish your design with buttons or fabric accents. Embellishments can be sewn or glued.

3.) Fold the backing pieces in half to form two 12” x 19” pieces and press using a wool or cotton setting and making sure the edges are even.

4.) Stitch a line ½” from the folded edge on each backing piece.

5.) On the front side of the embroidery, arrange the two back pieces to form a 19” square with folds in the center of the square and horizontal to the design. Pin in place. Carefully turn inside out to make sure everything is positioned as desired. Make corrections as needed.

6.) Once everything is properly positioned stitch a ½” seam around the outside edge of the pillow cover.  Clip the corners. If desired, use an overcast stitch on the outside edge of the seam to prevent fraying and create a more finished appearance.

7.) Turn the pillow right side out and press the seams. Press the design as needed using a towel or other fabric between the iron and the embroidery.

8.) Insert a pillow form or pillow and enjoy your work of art!

These 18" pillows were created with snow scenes from our seasonal designs and embellished with snowflake buttons.
